When it opens, TrapMap will show a Top 5 of city alerts, including taxi scams, currency exchange scams, and other tourist traps. Recent confirmations will matter more than volume, and every alert will explain what to do if it happened to you.

How do I know if a scam alert is current?

The planned app will show the latest confirmation time and trust label. Recent confirmations will carry more weight, while unconfirmed pins will fade and expire after about 14 days without confirmation.

What should I do if I have just been scammed?

Move to a busy, well-lit place, keep your passport and cards with you, and state clearly that you do not agree to a charge. If a card or bank account is involved, contact your bank immediately and save receipts or messages.

Once TrapMap opens, travelers will be able to share the location and pattern of a scam in under 15 seconds. New reports will begin as fresh, unconfirmed alerts and become stronger when other travelers confirm them.
